Multiple Sclerosis

Flash Player 9 required.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central nervous system. It affects twice as many women as men, who are usually diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40.

Its many and varied symptoms may include problems of vision, mobility, speech, memory, extreme tiredness, bladder and bowel control and pins and needles. No two people are affected in the same way. It is known as the "Mystery Disease" because there is no known cause and no known cure.

Personal stories are a valuable source of information and reassurance. They present first-hand accounts of the day to day challenges others have faced, and give insights into the coping strategies they have used.
