Diabetes is a condition where there is too much glucose in the blood. Glucose, a form of sugar, is the main source of fuel for our bodies. In people with diabetes, blood glucose levels are higher than normal because the body does not produce enough insulin and often cannot use insulin properly.
Approximately 85 per cent of people with diabetes have Type 2, which usually develops in adults over the age of 45 years but is increasingly occurring at a younger age.
These Speaking From Experience Type 2 diabetes video clips offer firsthand accounts from seven people living with Type 2 diabetes. They discuss the impact that Type 2 diabetes has had on their lives.
